Welcome to the Lighthouse Farm project – an innovative and exciting community-based initiative for Volunteers on the beautiful South East coast of Sri Lanka!

Our aims are multi-faceted and we invite people with skills from all walks of life to join us in a mutually beneficial exchange. We need your creativity, your ideas, your practical and artistic talents and offerings to help inject the community with new life. No skill base is too small, but a willingness to work, to teach (and to learn) is essential.
What we offer is accommodation, food, beautiful surroundings, and a knowledge that you are making a valuable contribution to a growing community that can benefit enormously from your input. Travelling doesn’t have to be just about being a tourist! You can help with your energy, skills, enthusiasm and cultural differences.
Local pre-school.
The project’s main aim is to encourage sustainable home garden organic vegetable production. From this base ideology we have expanded our ideas to support the development of small businesses (eg. English, I.T. mechanics, manual trades, arts, crafts and more…..) and to encourage educational possibilities from pre-School and upwards
